Robin Janeway, DVM

Dr. Robin Janeway, DVM

Dr.  Robin Janeway was raised in Grass Valley and always planned to return to her beautiful hometown.  She earned her Bachelor's degree in Animal Science at UC Davis and continued on to obtain her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the prestigious UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine in 2008.  After vet school, Dr. Janeway practiced preventative and emergency medicine at an equine clinic near Modesto.  Following the birth of her first son Dr. Janeway found emergency equine practice difficult to balance with her family life and accepted a position at a small animal and exotics practice in Modesto.  Both Dr. Janeway and her husband (who is from Nevada City) missed their hometown (which is considerably nicer than Modesto) and decided to move back to our gorgeous county to be closer to their families and to raise their kids.

After working at other local clinics for 5 years, Dr. Janeway joined the Brighton Greens Veterinary Hospital team in 2016.  She found Brighton Greens to be the perfect fit and purchased the clinic with Dr. Amber Murphy in 2017.  Dr. Janeway is a proud owner of Brighton Greens because of the high quality medicine and compassionate care that is provided to patients and clients.  Dr. Janeway loves establishing lasting relationships with her patients and their owners.  She is skilled in both soft tissue and orthopedic surgery, and strives to provide optimal care for her patients while equally understanding owners’ needs and financial limitations. She is skilled at ultrasound, enjoys preventative medicine, and loves challenging medical cases.

Dr. Robin Janeway and her husband now have three adorable boys and live in Nevada City.  When she isn't helping animals she enjoys horse riding, hiking, camping and spending time with her family.

Amber Murphy, DVM

Dr. Amber Murphy, Petey Pablo (R), and Berg (L)

Dr. Amber Murphy received her Bachelor's degree in animal science and pathobiology as well as her Master's degree in growth physiology from the University of Connecticut, where she grew up. Prior to vet school, Dr. Murphy relocated to San Diego, California for a job as a research scientist, where she met her future husband, Cain. Her affinity for all animals and their well being and a quest to explore new and exciting places, Dr. Murphy and her family moved to Australia to fulfill her lifelong dream to become a veterinarian. She graduated with second-class merit honors from the globally accredited veterinary school at Murdoch University in Perth, Western Australia.

Dr. Murphy joined the Brighton Greens team in 2017, and purchased the hospital with her business partner, and fellow BGVH veterinarian Dr. Robin Janeway in September of 2017. Along with special interests in internal/emergency medicine and soft tissue surgery, Dr. Murphy and her family enjoy the great variety of outdoor activities the Nevada County has to offer. Dr. Murphy takes great pride in providing excellent standard of care for her patients and outstanding customer service to her clients, and considers herself very fortunate to have found a career and practice that is so personally fulfilling.
